The Electric Scooter demonstration day and renewable energy exhibition, which took place
on Saturday 9th August 2003, at Kiltearn Primary School in Evanton, was a great success!

I have reluctantly had to abandon my plans to build a renewable energy trailer due to the high cost and serious lack of funds. I am now actively pursuing a new phase of my project by demonstrating the viability of electric cars and other electric vehicles. However, it's not so simple trying to get an electric vehicle. Renault, for example make a lovely electric car called a 'Kangoo' with a range of over 100 miles with a range extender, however when I enquired at Renault UK they told me they didn't make them .... mm? Well actually they DO make them in France but they're just NOT willing to sell them to anyone in Britain .... so much for the European Union!

The final stage of my initial project is now underway ... i.e. the setting up and evaluation of a renewable energy charging point for the electric moped. This will involve the mounting of a small wind generator and solar panel onto a trailer, which will then be connected to the batteries via a regulator. Under ideal conditions enough electricity should be produced to fully re-charge the mopeds batteries, once every three days or so!

The influential, "World Bank" is to phase out investment in oil projects by the end of 2008 and will instead invest in renewable energy projects and clean energy technology. The "Bank" has traditionally been a big supporter of oil and gas developments. If this doesn't tell you that the world's oil-based economy is finished, nothing will.
Charging Point - Update
The search is now on to find a willing partner to host an electric scooter charging point, in Easter Ross.
If you live within 20 miles of Evanton and would like to become involved in this exciting and innovative project
then please get in touch. Anyone willing to help, by setting up a charging point, would then become part of a local
network with access to free-advice and discounts on the purchase of an electric moped.
Already,in Inverness, several possible charging points have been identified along the High Street & Eastgate.
Coming Soon
Details of a forthcoming electric transport and renewable energy demonstration in 2005 .... more details to follow.
Details of a new, long-range scooter with a +60 mile range, on a single fast 2 hour charge.
Details of the new G wiz-Reva electric car .... I had a test drive in London recently and was greatly impressed, however I'm still trying to persuade the importer to sell one to me here in the North of Scotland.
